Blue Barn Ranch is a great playground for Dogs! How wonderful! ????

Blue Barn Ranch is a very special place for not only dog boarding and training but also for horses.

We have two horses boarded at Blue Barn and we enjoy a large turnout arena, riding arena, hot walker, three round pens, great endless trail riding, 2 wash racks, 2 large tack houses. Additionally and above all great friendly people!!

Blue Barn Ranch is the Best! My Lhasa Apso, Gusto Spitz, took the Basic Obedience Class with Kathi when he was 13 weeks old. He continued with Private Sessions, and then on to Daycare once a week – with Swim! Gus loves water. He didn’t know how to swim (no, not ALL dogs instinctively know how to swim) and soon, without his flotation device on, he was able to hold his head above water and swim. I was so proud of him.

Gus will be 3 years old on March 30th. He continues to go to Daycare every Tuesday. He has grown into a well behaved and obedience trained (Intermediate Level) dog who sometimes assists Kathi with evaluating a new dog for compatible play. On occasions, due to his very calm demeanor and canine body language, he will mentor new dogs in training who are a bit reactive to other dogs and humans. He has been quite helpful to Kathi on these occasions.

I am so proud of Gus. Kathi and I discuss his progress almost every Tuesday when I pick him up from Daycare. He doesn’t care for car rides, but as soon as he knows we just drove into the Blue Barn Ranch driveway, he gets so excited! He knows he will get to see his friends, and he loves to read the p-mail on the large rocks out front.

I couldn’t be any more happy for Gus’s progress – he has his AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate, a Canine Good Citizen title, and also a Trick Dog Novice title. His current favorite trick is “Sit Pretty!” His go-to command position is “down” if all else fails. (“this one’s GOTTA work!”)

Gus’s Breeder, Joyce Johanson, is so proud of Gus. Her Breeder and Conformation Show friends enjoyed the photos and progress I posted on her Facebook Page so much that she suggested Gus have his own Facebook Page. He has one now, and has over 100 followers!

I couldn’t have raised Gusto Spitz to this level of darn near perfection without Kathi, John, Lisa, and Rachel Savacool, and Blue Barn Ranch.
